Two Measures of Cardiovascular Health May Hint at Seniors’ Independence: – MONDAY, Aug cliquez içi . 31, 2015 – – Seniors with an increased resting heart rate and lower heart rate variability are less able to treatment for themselves, a new study finds. Researchers examined data on a lot more than 5,800 people, aged 70 to 82, who had risk elements for heart disease. The investigators compared resting heartrate and heartrate variability – – the beat-to-defeat variation in heart rate – – having the ability to perform basic daily activities such as grooming, walking and using the toilet.
Time factors for the three pairwise comparisons were determined based on the predefined numbers of progression-free survival events needed for each evaluation. The amount of required events was based on a two-sided log-rank test at an alpha level of 5 percent with a power of at least 80 percent. The efficacy boundary was crossed at a preplanned interim analysis. All total results presented listed below are from the analyses of May 2013; earlier email address details are summarized in Desk S1 in the Supplementary Appendix.
